A New York woman says a bite of McDonald’s fries left her with severe burns. Now she’s taking the fast-food giant to court saying it caused her physical trauma

A woman in New York is suing McDonald’s because she was served extremely hot fries that were “unreasonably and dangerously hot.” She has now filed an official civil complaint against the company, claiming she was served food that was “not safe for human consumption.”

According to court documents, Catherine Luongo went into a McDonald’s located at 18 East 42nd Street in New York City on March 5. Luongo’s attorney now alleges that the restaurant’s fries caused her physical trauma and that it was “due solely… [to] the carelessness, recklessness and negligence” of the company.
