Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has been settling into his new surroundings in Qatar ahead of the World Cup kicking off on Sunday.
The Swiss midfielder has turned his club career around this season and has been an influential figure both on and off the pitch in helping the Gunners stay top of the Premier League table. The 30-year-old has scored four goals and provided a further three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal and will be hoping to carry his amazing form into the World Cup with Switzerland.
Xhaka faced his Arsenal teammate Thomas Partey earlier this week as Ghana triumphed over Switzerland as the two nations continued to prepare for the beginning of their respective World Cup campaigns. Partey didn't get any minutes under his belt, but Gunners fans were happy to see how the midfielder embraced his club teammate at full-time.

Switzerland are set to begin their World Cup group stage campaign with a clash against Cameroon on Thursday before facing tournament favourites Brazil and finishing with a third group match against Serbia. Xhaka will hope to help his country qualify for the round of 16, with Brazil tipped to qualify as Group G winners, setting up a potential clash with the winner of Group H, which could be one of Portugal, Germany, Uruguay and Ghana.
Xhaka has clearly been settling into his Qatari surroundings after being photographed in traditional Arab clothing handling what seems to be a falcon, the national bird of Qatar. The Switzerland international will face Arsenal teammates Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli in the second fixture of Group G and is sure to greet both as warmly as he did Partey earlier this week as Mikel Arteta awaits his players return next month.
