Meteorologists have said that Wednesday is set to be another wet and windy day, with temperatures remaining low, as a cold snap will arrive later this week.
Two weather warnings will come into force today, with Met Eireann issuing a Status Yellow warning for wind and rain in parts of the country.
Today, January 11, will be “windy and showery with very strong gusts along the Atlantic coast”, the national forecaster has said.

Showers will merge into longer spells of rain, while isolated thunderstorms and hail are also likely.
Some parts of the country will have a dry spell in the afternoon, though rain will move later in the day to “all areas but the north”.
It will be a cold day, as Met Eireann’s forecast said: “Highest temperatures of five to nine degrees, in mostly strong and gusty westerly winds.”
Meanwhile tonight, it will drop even further to between two and six degrees. Winds will be “strong to very strong at times” overnight in the southern half of the country, but lighter elsewhere.
There are two Status Yellow weather warnings coming into force today, including a wind warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Galway, valid from 8am to 12pm. Met Eireann said: “Strong west to southwest winds on Wednesday morning with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h, especially near the coast.”
The second is a wind and rain warning for Munster from 6pm on Wednesday to midnight on Thursday, January 12. Spot flooding is possible, as the forecaster said: “Becoming very windy on Wednesday evening and night with heavy rain. Possible spot flooding. Strong westerly winds with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h.”
The rest of the week will remain “unsettled” and will turn colder this weekend.
