A “family man who gave everyone his time” has died days before his 40th birthday after struggling with his mother’s passing with cancer months before. Single father-of-two Lee Holmes from Caldicot died in the early hours of Monday, June 7, which his family said has been a huge shock.
Born in Cardiff, Lee moved to Caldicot when he was 15 and became a well-liked member of the community in the Monmouthshire town. He had a long history of mental health struggles which affected his work life and ability to get a job, his family said.
In a statement on behalf of Lee’s family a close friend said: “Lee had a long history with mental health [struggles] and that affected him being able to get a job. Lee had a colourful past but he was a real family man and would give anyone the time of day. He will be so missed.
