Human skull and bones found on Glasgow building site by horrified workers
Horrified construction workers dug up human remains while working at a housing development in the east end of Glasgow.
Bones, a skull and wooden coffins buried underground were uncovered at the multi-million pound construction site in Orr Street, Calton, on Tuesday morning.
The derelict land is close to St Mary's Cemetary at the back of St Mary's Church on Abercromby Street, which closed around 1870.
Pictures from the scene shared with the Record show the bones sticking out of the freshly disturbed earth.

Working alongside her son, Atif, the proceeds from a UK-wide phone scam saw the six-strong crime gang splash their stolen cash on Rolex watches, luxury holidays and sports cars.
The Mohammed clan cold-called potential victims and posed as bank workers who told them they were the victim of a suspected fraud.
OAPs were then conned into transferring money to the outfit, who were based in Glasgow’s south side.

A man who died while in police custody has been named locally as Stephen ‘Spike’ Campbell.
The 50-year-old passed away on Tuesday, February 23, after being taken to Kirkcaldy Police Station in Fife.
It is understood that he suffered a medical episode while waiting to be questioned by officers over an alleged robbery.
His death is being probed by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner under direction from the Crown Office.
