Weapon attack in Renfrew leaves man with serious facial injury as police launch suspect hunt

Police are appealing for information following the serious assault of a man in Renfrew.

The incident happened between 2am and 3am this morning (February 12) near to the Kirklandeuk playing fields.

A 25-year-old man was attacked with an unknown weapon and sustained a serious facial injury as a result and attended at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The male suspect is described as being around 5ft 10in in height, of slim to medium build and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a blue puffer jacket with the hood up, dark grey or black jeans and black trainers.

Detective Constable James Campbell said: “This incident saw a man sustain a serious facial injury. I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch. I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to contact us.”
