India's head coach Gautam Gambhir has emphasised that determining the batting order should depend on evaluating a player's impact at a certain position, which, he believes, cannot be measured only through data and statistics.
Talking about promoting all-rounder Axar Patel to No. 5 in the first two matches of the ODI series against England, Gambhir said he has done well whenever he got an opportunity to bat and it helps to have a left-hander in the top five.
