Fans of big-screen romances are going to want to mark their calendars for the 2024 new movie We Live in Time, as it looks to have just about everything they could want in a love story. Two charismatic, talented stars; a story bound to illicit swoons and tears; and a director who knows how to make it all look fantastic.
We Live in Time is another 2024 entry from A24, the production company behind some both cult and Oscar-winning favorites in recent years. We Live in Time joins A24's 2024 lineup which also includes Problemista, Love Lies Bleeding, Civil War, Tuesday, MaXXXine, The Front Room, Heretic and more.

We Live in Time release date
A24 has set We Live in Time for an October 11 US release date. It will start off with a limited release before expanding nationwide in the US on October 18.
UK moviegoers are going to have to wait a bit longer, as We Live in Time will premiere on January 1, 2025, there.
We Live in Time cast
There are only two credited cast members on promotional materials for We Live in Time, but that may be all you need when they are Oscar nominees Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh.
Garfield is a two-time Oscar nominee for his performances in Hacksaw Ridge and tick, tick… BOOM, but he is also known for his time as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man movies, The Social Network and Martin Scorsese's Silence. Most recently he was seen in the limited TV series Under the Banner of Heaven.
Pugh earned her Oscar nomination for her performance in Greta Gerwig's Little Women, but she has also earned raves for movies like Lady Macbeth, Fighting with My Family, Midsommar, Black Widow and Oppenheimer. We Live in Time is her second 2024 movie, as she previously starred in Dune: Part Two.
Apparently though, the breakout star of the movie may be this carousel horse, which has become something of an internet star in recent days:

We Live in Time plot
Nick Payne, who previously wrote The Sense of an Ending, Wanderlust and The Last Letter from Your Lover, penned the We Live in Time script. Here is the official synopsis:
"Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives. Through snapshots of their life together — falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family — a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation. As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley’s decade-spanning, deeply moving romance."
