Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield has claimed facing Liverpool in the Champions League group stages represents a standout tie for the Scottish Premiership side.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side booked their place in Europe's elite competition after winning their final qualifying fixture versus PSV over two legs, having not competed in the tournament since the 2010/11 season.
Rangers reached the Europa League final last term, losing out to Eintracht Frankfurt, and now have hopes of causing an upset in Group A, despite being the outsiders out of Ajax, Napoli and Liverpool.

One player relishing the opportunity to take on the Reds in particular is former Burnley man, Arfield, who scored on his most recent visit to Anfield in September 2017 as the Clarets earned an unlikely share of the spoils. Reflecting on drawing Liverpool at this stage of the Champions League, the 33-year-old told Sky Sports : "That's the one that is eye-catching one for us, being north of the border.
"With the other three teams in the group, it's going to be some achievement to get through. But you have to be optimistic of your chances and we are looking forward to this.
"We can talk about it," added Arfield on his Anfield goal. "I remember the ball dropping and I put it in the left side. It was an amazing day, I think it finished 1-1 that day. It's well-renowned for its atmosphere, it was buzzing that day, and I'm sure the Rangers fans will love it when they go there."
Rangers boss Van Bronckhorst is also optimistic of his team's chances in Europe and described facing Liverpool home and away as 'fantastic'.
"We are going to play some great games against tough opponents and I am sure the home games at Ibrox will be fantastic as well," he said.
"Playing against Liverpool for the first time is fantastic, both home and away. Of course, for me, going back to Holland again to play against Ajax, there is a lot of familiar faces in the team but also in the staff and in the boardroom."
