Adam Thomas appeared on ITV's Lorraine this morning to discuss his recent return to Waterloo Road after the BBC school-based drama made a comeback after eight years.
The cast of the new series is very much a family affair with Adam reviving his role as Donte Charles, his son Teddy playing Tommy Charles and his niece, and Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas' daughter Scarlett, appearing as Donte's daughter, Izzi Charles.
And much to the delight of Adam's youngest child, Elsie-Rose, she also made an appearance on the big screen this morning when a selfie of the Thomas family appeared on screen including Adam, his wife Caroline and their two children.

Elsie, who was delighted to have made the big screen, smiled excitedly as she posed next to the image on her TV, Adam shared the adorable snap on his Instagram stories captioned: "This is what it's all about."
And while Adam was keen to discuss his return to Waterloo Road, talk soon turned to the star's stint on Emmerdale and whether he would ever return to the hit ITV soap. Adam joined the cast of Emmerdale in July 2009 and during his time on the show he was involved in a number of dramatic storylines including the time he supported Aaron Dingle as he struggled with his sexuality.
He went to prison after setting fire to a garage while Cain Dingle was still inside and had to deal with his sister's death as a result of a heroin overdose. Adam left the show in 2018.
Lorraine asked: “Emmerdale, which is a huge show that is part of your life - there is unfinished business there so is the door open, would you be happy to go back?” Adam laughed and joked: “Do you know something that I don’t?” as Lorraine continued: “I’m just putting it out there. It is such a brilliant place to work and you must miss your friends.”
Adam admitted: “That is what I miss the most, it’s the cast because they are just incredible. You genuinely do become a huge family and I just miss them all so much so never say never because I would love to go back one day.”
Lorraine jumped in: “If the story was right.” Adam added: “Yes if the story was right definitely. It has always held a special place in my heart, Emmerdale.”
