A water company which is bringing in a hosepipe ban across vast parts of the UK is blaming Brits working from home for drinking too much water.
South East Water, which supplies more than two million homes and businesses, is imposing the first hosepipe ban of the summer, affecting households across Kent and Sussex.
The company's chief executive David Hinton has today claimed that people working from home was a "key factor" behind the ban, as it has "increased drinking water demand".
