Watch: GAA club raffle descends into chaos after unexpected twist

A GAA club raffle is one of the most bog standard sights you could ever hope to see - which is what makes it particularly hilarious on the very rare occasions when something goes awry.

That was the case for Clann Na NGael Meath whose weekly fundraiser seemed to be motoring along quite nicely until there was a bit of a systems failure.

It's best if you don't know what happened before watching so have a look at how it unfolded below...

Yes, poor Seamus couldn't have anticipated that when he agreed to do the honours but it proved to be a funny moment for everyone involved as well as those tuning in to the Facebook Live.

And in fairness he and the host kept calm and carried on until the draw was complete.

It's not the only recent entrant to the 'GAA raffle gone wrong' sub-genre either as back in December, a Donegal club drew Father Ted comparisons after the host pulled his own name out as the winner.

To top it all off, the prize on that occasion was a pair of tickets to see one of Garth Brooks' five sold-out shows at Croke Park so it was about as perfectly a quaint GAA moment as one could envision.

Despite protests from his excited son, St Eunan's chairman John Haran quickly and selflessly claimed that the raffle would be carried out again to avoid any suspicion of bias to laughter from members behind the camera.
