Another new Charger has found the end zone.
With Keenan Allen out with injury and Mike Williams held without a catch, Justin Herbert has been forced to spread the ball around. Midway through the third quarter, that necessity brought him to free agent acquisition Gerald Everett.
Running up the sideline matched up with Raiders safety Roderic Teamer, Everett hauled in a pass on his back shoulder near the goal line. Teamer’s tackle attempt then brought Everett’s momentum across the pylon and into the end zone.
It’s a key response for the Chargers after the Raiders showed some signs of life on their last offensive drive. LA now leads 24-10.
