Waratah home searched after pub hold up at Adamstown

Police have seized a car and clothes from a Waratah property after an Adamstown pub was robbed in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers were called the Gates Hotel on Glebe Road about 4am, August 8, after reports two unknown men had assaulted a staff member and absconded with cash from the venue.

The worker was uninjured, police said in a statement on Sunday morning.

An investigation began as police cordoned off an area outside the venue on Saturday morning.

Later that afternoon, officers searched a Coronation Street property at Waratah where they said "numerous items of clothing and a vehicle were seized for forensic examination".

Police said their inquiries were ongoing at the weekend, and have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000, or contact local police, a spokeswoman for NSW Police said.
