Vulnerable people ‘more at risk’ if landlords given power to evict with just two weeks’ notice, charities warn

Charities have criticised plans that could see landlords evict antisocial tenants with just two weeks’ notice - saying the move could “result in further criminalisation of vulnerable people”.

The proposal would make it quicker for landlords to evict tenants who “make their neighbours’ lives a nightmare” through noise or being drunk and disorderly - by halving the notice period to two weeks “for all anti-social behaviour eviction grounds”.
