Oops! We should have checked the weather forecast before asking you to send us your pictures of Merseyside looking gorgeous in spring for the March instalment of our monthly photo competition.
Since we opened entries, it has snowed at least twice and for at least a couple of weeks it felt more like the depths of January than the beginning of the season of rebirth.
But now that the daffodils are brightening up the grass verges and the trees are decorated with waves of blossom, it finally feels like spring has arrived (Apologies if this writing this jinxes us and your weekend plans are spoiled by hail).
Despite the dodgy weather, we did receive some strong entries to the MerseySnaps photo competition. Quality over quantity, we're sure you'll agree. So now it's time for you to vote for your favourite - for the picture that will adorn the Echo's Facebook and Twitter banners and appear on our letters page in print.
