Virginia Giuffre’s memoir takes top honor at British Book Awards

  • Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir Of Surviving Abuse And Fighting For Justice, was named Book of the Year at the British Book Awards.
  • The book also secured the non-fiction narrative book of the year prize at the London ceremony, detailing her alleged trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
  • Judges emphasised the memoir's power in upholding Giuffre's legacy, particularly in light of the recent Epstein files revelations.
  • Other significant winners included Suzanne Collins for Sunrise On The Reaping in children's fiction and Michael Rosen for Oh Dear, Look What I Got! in children's non-fiction illustrated.
  • The awards also honoured Dame Jilly Cooper with a special posthumous award, and recognised AF Steadman as Author of the Year and Dav Pilkey as Illustrator of the Year.
