Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk took time out of his busy schedule to surprise customers at a McDonald's restaurant in Kirkby.
The Reds defender spent 30 minutes at the drive-thru in Merseyside where he surprised customers by handing out the new additions to the McDonald's UK menu - Wispa and Wispa Gold McFlurrys - as well as signing products and taking selfies with members of the Kirkby restaurant's crew.
After going behind the scenes at the fast-food chain, Van Dijk told staff: "‘I’ve never been in the back here you know".

In a video released on McDonald's social media platforms, Liverpool supporters encountering the Dutchman in the drive-thru can be seen holding their heads in shock, with one fan getting the defender to pen his autograph across his body. Meanwhile, other supporters quickly rang friends and family on FaceTime. Another fan can be heard shouting "Oh my god! Virgil" before being offered a free McFlurry.
It is not the first time Van Dijk has partnered with McDonald's, with the Liverpool man making an appearance at the American food chain's Fun Football and Happy Readers event at Liverpool One earlier this year.
