A violent partner who "just switched" after he punched his girlfriend in the eye has been banned from contacting her for five years. Mark Hall was handed a restraining order at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (February 10).
The restriction came after a judge heard how the shocking attack happened after the couple bought food and Rum to drink. But Hall drank most of the botte before attacking her with rings on one hand.
She said the strike felt she was being "punched with a knuckle duster". Hall continued to hit her and told her, "that's for calling police last Friday" - before he sat back and finished his drink.

In this case he was convicted after trial of assault, causing bodily harm, but pleaded guilty to common assault and two charges of criminal damage, resulting in an overall sentence of 21 months, suspended for two years.
