A convicted paedophile who abused two young children has died behind bars.
Gordon Fraser's body was found by guards on Sunday, June 5 in his cell at HMP Addiewell.
The pensioner was caged for seven years in October 2021 for historical sex attacks on two children in his care.
He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
During sentencing, Fraser was told by Judge Lord Weir that his disgusting crimes against a schoolboy and his stepsister in the late 70s and early 80s amounted to “a gross breach of trust”.
Fraser, who appeared in the dock in a mobility scooter, had sacked his legal team following the guilty verdict after he forced both victims to give evidence at his trial.
The pensioner, from Dundee, had denied lowering the boy’s trousers and underwear, touching his private parts and forcing him to commit sex acts between dates in 1978 and 1980.
He also pleaded not guilty to committing two historic sexual offences against the girl.
But a jury found him guilty after a trial at Livingston High Court last year.
He was also convicted of causing the girl to look at pornographic material, taking photographs of her or pretending to do so, performing a number of sex acts on her and raping her at an address in Dundee.
Neither of his victims can be identified for legal reasons.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Prison Service said: "Gordon Fraser, 79, a prisoner from HMP Addiewell has died on 05 June 2022.
"He was sentenced at Livingston High Court in 2021.
