Packers gift Vikings a Lions loss on Thanksgiving Day

After the Minnesota Vikings dropped a game in the standings to the Detroit Lions with their loss to the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers gave them a gift by beating the Lions on Thanksgiving Day, 29-22.

The Packers got off to a fast start with a 53-yard pass to Christian Watson on the first play of the game and jumped out to a 23-6 lead. The Lions fought and tried to get back into the game, but multiple failed fourth-down conversions in the second half, including a failed fake punt, cost them.

Right now, the Vikings sit two games behind the Lions and can climb within 1.5 games of them with a win over the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

Two of the Vikings’ last three games of the season are against the Lions. If the Vikings are within two games of them by the time Week 16 rolls around, they can realistically win the division and host a playoff game.
