Best case scenario
Hockenson takes another leap and becomes a consensus top-five tight end in the NFL.
He came to the Vikings at the end of October and was an immediate contributor. He fit in seamlessly without even knowing the offense right away. After spending the entire offseason with the Vikings and learning the offense in full, Hockenson can take things to the next level in 2023.
Worst case scenario
Injuries derail Hockenson’s season.
The Vikings are looking at moving to do more 12 personnel in 2023, which can lead to injuries. Hockenson has already missed nine games in his career due to injuries and it’s entirely plausible that injuries hinder Hockenson moving forward in his career.
What to expect in 2023
Expectations for Hockenson are currently sky-high. He is a talented player that understands how to attack the seams and win down the field. With how the Vikings like to utilize choice routes and both spread and condense formations, Hockenson can line up everywhere and help create mismatches. Expect a big season from Hockenson, including a real possibility of gaining 1,000 yards.
