Vice President Kamala Harris arrived at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport this afternoon and was greeted by a warm reception. She deplaned Air Force Two alongside Gov. Tim Walz, who met her at the airport. The duo was welcomed by several individuals on the tarmac, including Rep. Nikema Williams and Savannah Mayor Van Johnson.
During her visit, Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz took the time to engage with students from Savannah State University, the oldest public Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in Georgia. This interaction highlighted the administration's commitment to engaging with the younger generation.
Prior to embarking on their journey, the Democratic leaders met with a group of enthusiastic supporters. They graciously posed for group photos and even indulged in taking a few selfies, showcasing their approachability and connection with the public.
At 3:56 p.m. ET, Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz boarded the vibrant red, white, and blue Harris-Walz tour bus. The bus tour is anticipated to encompass a series of campaign stops in south Georgia, underscoring the importance of engaging with communities across the state.
