Christian Horner has hailed Max Verstappen’s sensational opening-lap overtake on polesitter Oscar Piastri as the difference to set up his Formula 1 Imola Grand Prix victory, as the Red Bull boss labelled it a “win it or bin it” manoeuvre.

Verstappen swooped past Piastri around Tamburello to power into the lead, where he controlled the pace, despite one safety car restart and one virtual safety car period.
