Among millennials, Varsity Blues has a lasting footprint as an icon of the 1990s. It wasn’t exactly a box office smash when it arrived in theaters, and it’s not exactly a great film, but anyone growing up that era can’t read the words “I don’t want your life!” without mentally hearing James Van Der Beek’s Texas twang.
