Bareilly: Two doctors who were taken into police custody for creating a public nuisance while being inebriated have gone missing while undergoing treatment in the district hospital of Bareilly, police said.

Emergency officer at the Bareilly district hospital, Dr. Shailesh Ranjan told ANI that he received a call from Dr. LK Saxena on Friday infoming that the two accused doctors -Dr. Vaibhav Shukla and Dr. Rahul Bajpayee- were missing from the hospital.

"I received a call from Dr. LK Saxena saying that Dr. Vaibhav Shukla and Dr. Rahul Bajpayee have absconded and he asked me to send this information to police station...I got BHT (Bed Head Ticket) of both (Dr. Vaibhav and Dr. Rahul) from emergency...the BHT mentioned both to be absconded at 2 pm..." said emergency officer Dr. Ranjan.

As per the police report, Vaibhav and Rahul, appointed at the district hospital of Bareilly and a staff member were in inebriated condition when they picked a fight with an individual on the road on Wednesday.

Police arrived at the spot and all three picked a fight with police as well and also misbehaved with a woman police constable, said officials.

The trio were thrashed by the public and Vaibhav and Rahul managed to fled the spot but were detained later on, said police.

Vaibhav was admitted to Bareilly District Hospital on Wednesday while Rahul was admitted on Thursday. Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
