Alcaraz, who aims to be the first man to successfully defend the title since Roger Federer in 2008, dispatched the 26th-seeded British player, Dan Evans, with a score of 6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, in a thrilling match that lasted 3 hours and 11 minutes.
