UP: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directs foolproof security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit

Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday asked the officials to make foolproof security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed events on July 7 by ensuring no inconvenience is caused to the invitees and participants.

The CM also gave a challenging task to the officials to make proper arrangements of drinking water at all event sites in view of hot and humid conditions but without using plastic bottles.

“It will be the first visit of the PM to his constituency after BJP’s victory in the state assembly elections, hence it should be a historical one,” said Yogi while reviewing the micro level planning of security and all other arrangements on reaching Kashi in afternoon and personally inspecting all the sites of events in which PM will take part on July 7.

After his chopper landed, the CM went to Rudharksha international convention centre, where the PM will inaugurate the 3-day Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam of ministry of education in presence of eminent academicians, policy-makers and academic leaders congregating to discuss the roadmap for effective implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Following inspection of Rudraksh, Yogi entered neighbouring Sampurnanand Sports stadium, where the PM will address a public meeting after inauguration and foundation laying of projects of Rs 1,800 crores. Yogi asked the officials to make all alternative arrangements in view of the possibility of rains apart from drinking water arrangements for participants in view of hot and humid conditions.

He clearly directed that no plastic bottle should be used in ensuring drinking water arrangements. He also sought details of other arrangements including hassle free-entry of visitors and parking of vehicles.

Yogi directed the officials to invite prominent sports personalities at the PM's public meeting. Varanasi Municipal Corporation officials were directed to carry out a special sanitation drive across the city. Yogi asked for holding cultural events at Rudraksh stadium and also LT College ground in Orderly Bazar, where the PM will visit to see the Akshay Patra kitchen for centralised cooking of mid-day meals.

After reviewing the arrangements, Yogi reached Kashi Vishwanath temple to offer prayer. Later, he reached the police lines ground and left the city by his chopper.
