Undercard confirmed for Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk rematch as British heavyweights feature

The undercard for Tyson Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk has been confirmed, with Moses Itauma and Johnny Fisher among the British heavyweights featuring.

Usyk beat Fury in May to become undisputed heavyweight champion, winning by split decision as Fury suffered the first professional defeat of his career.

The full set of titles will not be on the line for the rematch on December 21 in Riyadh, with Usyk giving up his IBF strap as he prioritised a second bout with Fury over mandatory requirements, and it means Daniel Dubois sits alongside the Ukrainian as a world champion.

There will unsurprisingly be a strong heavyweight theme to the pre-Christmas ‘Reignited’ card, with five undercard bouts announced.

Itauma, who has made it clear he wants to break Mike Tyson’s record and become the youngest heavyweight world champion ever, will take on Demsey McKean.

The Australian was beaten by Filip Hrgovic last summer and now steps into the ring against 19-year-old Itauma, who moved to 10-0 in August when he stopped Mariusz Wach inside two rounds.

Israil Madrimov will make his return to the ring for the first time since losing to Terence Crawford as he goes up against Serhii Bohachuk, himself coming off a defeat having lost to Vergil Ortiz Jr in August.

There will be an all-British showdown earlier in the night, between Fisher and Dave Allen.

The hugely-popular Fisher brutally stopped Alen Babic last time out and will be eyeing another statement performance, against a fighter in Allen who has six defeats on his record, including to Dillian Whyte, David Price and Frazer Clarke.

Dennis McCann will fight Peter McGrail, while Isaac Lowe, a regular on Fury’s undercards, takes on Lee McGregor.
