Una Healy has revealed she is working on some new music as she sets her sights on making a return to Eurovision when it comes to the UK next year.
The Saturdays singer, 40, first took part in the iconic song contest back in 2006 when she represented Ireland as a backing singer for Brian Kennedy. The 55-year-old finished in 10th place with his song Every Song Is A Cry For Love.
Una says she has a new song "ready to go" and said she would "absolutely love to be involved in Eurovision", though probably not as a performer.
Speaking to The Mirror, the mum-of-two said: "If I had a song that I felt would work for Eurovision I would love to put it forward.
"I’m not too sure about performing myself, but in some shape or form I would absolutely love to be involved with Eurovision.
"It’s an amazing contest and it’s growing even more every year. It’s just become so popular again which is great, I love it."
She added: "I am 100% wherever it is going to be there, because I am a huge fan of Eurovision."
Eurovision 2023 will be coming to the UK in May after it was decided this year's winning country Ukraine wouldn't be able to host the huge event amid the ongoing war.
Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield were confirmed to be on the shortlist to stage Eurovision earlier this month.
Una said: "I think that whoever gets it will do everything they can to make it the most enjoyable experience for everybody and I think it will bring so much to that city.
"Whoever actually gets it is so lucky because it will just be so exciting."
The singer also said she has been working on a new song and is "really excited" to share it with fans.
"Music for me now is something I’m really excited to get back out, because for two years obviously people weren’t able to perform anywhere and make music.
"It was all kind of done online, so I’m looking forward to actually going with a new song where I can actually go out there and promote it properly," Una said.
She added: "That’ll be quite soon. I haven’t got an exact date, but I have the song ready to go so we’re just working on timings now."
Una also said she has finished shooting a video for it.
The song doesn't have a specific release date currently, but she said she is "just working on timings".
As well as getting back into the studio, Una has recently partnered with Nutella to promote their Happy Portion Parlour.
The former girlband star said this exclusive eatery will be an "enjoyable experience" for people from all backgrounds to enjoy Nutella. The new pop-up will give people the chance to try different breakfast foods topped with a teaspoon of the iconic spread.
Nutella’s Happy Portion Parlour opens this Thursday in Soho, London and closes on August 27. The exclusive eatery will be delighting fans by showcasing an amazing array of tasty breakfast dishes, all made with a portion size (one heaped teaspoon, 15g) of Nutella.
