TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson has slammed Molly-Mae Hague’s gender reveal, calling the influencer "unskilled" and slamming her "ghastly" gender reveal video.
The former Love Island contestant previously announced that she and her boyfriend Tommy Fury, both 23, were expecting, sharing a snap of them showing off her rounded figure on Instagram, with the caption: “Mum & Dad.”
Since then she has been giving her 6.7million followers regular updates on her pregnancy, with the latest being a gender reveal video.
Overwhelmed with joy, Molly-Mae was seen jumping up and down in excitement as Tommy popped a balloon to reveal pink confetti.
Ulrika is having none of it though, as in an article she penned for The Sun, the TV personality slammed Molly-Mae’s entire career as an influencer.
She wrote: "A 23-year-old, unskilled and naïve influencer has got a bun in the oven.
“And she’s having a girl, we now know, because she posted one of those ghastly, tacky, “gender reveal” videos. (Must be exhausting for the poor sod who has to video her every waking moment.)”
Ulrika didn’t stop there, as she took aim at Molly-Mae’s previous comments during the pregnancy.
“Not only has this been the “emotionally hardest” period of her life, poor lamb, but hapless Molly Mae has cried FIVE times a day and her whole body has been consumed by the shock of it all.”
Ulrika has four children herself, Bo Eva Coeur Jonsson, Cameron Oskar George Turnbull, Martha Sky Hope Gerrard-Wright and Malcolm Monet.
The 55-year-old did admit that pregnancies are a “ballache of emotions” though, adding that it can be a “rollercoaster” but continued to take aim at the Love Islander’s reaction to it all as “some form of PTSD,” adding it’s “drama of the highest order.”
As acerbic has the rest of her comments, Ulrika continued: “It could be my age, but I’m at the end of my tether with these modern-day, lightweight slebs and influencers making melodramas from anything from a trip to the shops to their latest haircuts.”
She added: “Becoming pregnant is, after all, one of the most natural things to happen to a woman."
She went as far to call the baby an “excellent money-making opportunity,” admitting it was the cynic in her that brought her to those conclusions.
Molly-Mae has also been sharing the details of her pregnancy on her YouTube channel, with a recent upload showing her get emotional over the whole experience.
“I literally just can’t explain how the shock literally overtook my body for the first month, 100%,” she said. Adding: “I just felt like every single day I was living an outer body experience; my emotions were something I’d never experienced before.
“I cried maybe five times a day for no reason. Just in tears over everything.”
Even though emotions are clearly high during this period of Molly-Mae’s life, she insisted that her and Tommy are “beyond happy,” something which could clearly be seen in the video.
