The UK's record-breaking summer will end with warm but not extreme weather, say forecasters as autumn rolls in with heavy rain.
Temperatures are expected to hover around the mid-20s this week across many parts of the country, according to the Met Office, with dry weather and spells of sunshine in most parts
Pleasant conditions are expected to continue past the end of meteorological summer on Thursday (1 September) until next weekend, with rainfall becoming more widespread by Saturday (4 September).
