UFC’s Bryce Mitchell on Sean O’Malley calling him ‘inbred’: ‘I’m gonna deal with that when I see him’

Bryce Mitchell vows to make Sean O'Malley pay for calling him “inbred.”

O’Malley (16-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) called Mitchell inbred after Mitchell predicted that Petr Yan would beat him at UFC 280. After O’Malley edged out Yan in a Fight of the Night battle, he responded to Mitchell on Instagram by insulting him.

“Your dad f*cked his sister to make you.”

Mitchell (15-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) took issue with O’Malley’s choice of words and thinks a fight between them is inevitable.

“He called me inbred,” Mitchell said in an interview with Sportskeeda. “I’m gonna deal with that when I see him. He’s gonna have to move up, I’m sure. He needs to. He’s 6-foot something tall. He needs to move up a weight class, and I do believe we’re gonna clash. He can pick how he wants to, but he’s gonna lose.”

O’Malley is now the No. 1 ranked bantamweight officially by the UFC, but Mitchell doesn’t think he’ll get a title shot against champion Aljamain Sterling.

“The reason they’re not having the Sterling-O’Malley fight is because they want Aljamain to do anything but fight O’Malley right now,” Mitchell said. “They’re trying to protect the guy that’s worth the money, and O’Malley will get destroyed if he fought Sterling. I think he knows that, too, and that’s why he’s not over here saying that he wants a title shot. Aljo would kill him. I’ve trained with Aljo for 10 years now.”

Mitchell returns to action on Dec. 10 when he takes on fellow unbeaten featherweight Ilia Topuria at UFC 282 in Las Vegas.
