UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed on Saturday an agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran to restore diplomatic relations as an "important step towards stability and prosperity" in the region.
Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed on Friday to reestablish relations.
The deal was reached at an initiative by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to a statement issued by Saudi Arabia, Iran and China, “the agreement includes their affirmation of the respect for the sovereignty of states and the non-interference in internal affairs.”
