Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton remains in residential treatment more than a month after a 4 August TikTok livestream led to his hospitalisation, according to a new statement from his family. The family said Hilton is continuing to focus on his mental health and recovery and rejected reports claiming he had lost 10 years of memory or believed it was 2016.
Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, was taken to a Miami-area hospital on 4 August after the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office received multiple calls about a social media livestream showing acts of self-harm. Law enforcement said he was taken for medical attention, while TikTok later confirmed that the livestream had been removed and Hilton's account banned.
