Tyson Fury 'offers' Derek Chisora fight amid Anthony Joshua negotiations

Eddie Hearn claims Tyson Fury has sent Derek Chisora a fight contract despite agreeing to extend negotiations with Anthony Joshua.

Fury stated he would come out of retirement by offering Joshua the chance to settle their domestic rivalry and become a three-time heavyweight champion despite losing his past two fights to Oleksandr Usyk. Joshua accepted terms offered by Fury but missed his proposed deadline of Monday to sign a contract and the fight was seemingly off.

Manuel Charr was expected to serve as Fury's next opponent after 'The Gypsy King' promised he would fight him if talks with Joshua broke down. In a sudden turn of events, Fury said his Queensbury Promotions boss Frank Warren had convinced him to go back into negotiations with Joshua, leaving Charr frustrated as he accused Fury of avoiding a fight against him.

Hearn has now told Behind the Gloves of the contract saga: " Tyson Fury, who in the meantime has just offered fights to Mahmoud Charr, he's just offered fights to Derek Chisora, yesterday, and yet he rears his head today and says 'I'll give you until today'. It ain't going to get done today, so I don't know what else to tell you. Some people don't really understand, but you haven't really got to understand the contract when they tweet 'oh just sign it'.

There are deals - but we're not a million miles away in all honesty. I don't know if it's going to take 48 hours or 72 hours, it's going to be signed when it's in the right place. It's not just a case of 'we're out of the fight,' okay, then two days later waking up and going 'I'll give you another day, sign it today'. We just received comments back yesterday. There's a number of comments from our final draft, which we didn't feel were unreasonable and I'm not saying Queensberry have to sign that contract."

The Matchroom Boxing boss admitted that he isn't confident the fight between Fury and Joshua will happen, whilst telling Fury: "If you want to walk away, just walk away from the fight," Hearn added. "If you look at Tyson Fury's post and the comments, half of it is 'AJ you dosser, sign the contract' and the other half is 'this is f***ing boring'.

"Just work away to get it done and trust your team to get it done and your lawyers. This whole 'I've pulled out of the fight, I'm back in the fight, you've got a day,' it really doesn't help. He's not stupid and part of me wonders why he's doing this, especially when they're offering Derek Chisora a fight. This isn't mind games to AJ, this is mind games to the perception of the situation."
