The contentious relationship between newly signed Dolphins cornerback Eli Apple and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been well covered.
However, the two veterans have no choice but to get along following the knee injury to Jalen Ramsey that will keep the club's top corner out for the start of the season. The team signed Apple after the Ramsey injury took place.
The outspoken superstar wideout, who several weeks ago boldly stated his lofty goal of becoming the first receiver in league history to eclipse the elusive 2,000 yard mark, was back to making headlines once again at the podium on Friday.
This time, he did so jokingly at Apple’s expense.
“Eli, he’s a great guy. I know we had some battles but at the end of the day, man, we’re all trying to win. We’re trying to get better. Now my [outlook on it] is: Now, I get to embarrass him every day,” said Hill.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill said that Coach McDaniel called him saying that the team was going to sign Eli Apple and asked Tyreek if he had a problem with it.

Whether he was taking a shot at his new teammate or was serious, having Apple as his teammate is something Hill plans on using to help him take his game to even higher level—potentially resulting in league history.
Hill, who set career-highs in receptions (119) and receiving yards (1,710) in his first season in South Beach, would need to average 117.6 yards per game to surpass the 2,000 yard mark plateau.
