From 11 April 2022, the toll for the Tyne Tunnel will increase by 20p for drivers of Class 3 vehicles, including large goods vehicles, buses and vans over 3.5 tonnes in weight.
The North East Joint Transport Committee, which owns the Tyne Tunnels, confirmed at its meeting in January 2022 that the new toll will increase from £3.70 to £3.90.
Permit holders will still receive a 10% discount on their journey, making the new toll for account holders £3.51, up from £3.33.
