Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk filed a lawsuit against U.S. competitor Eli Lilly in a New Jersey federal court on Tuesday, alleging that the company engaged in false advertising regarding the effectiveness of its weight-loss treatments.

The suit accuses Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly of violating federal and state laws through nationwide promotional campaigns for its obesity drug Zepbound and diabetes drug Mounjaro.
