Officers are appealing for information after two people were badly injured during a "serious assault" on New Year's Day in County Durham.
Durham Constabulary received a report of a serious assault in the early hours of January 1, 2022, at the top of Front Street in Chester-le-Street.
It was reported that a victim suffered a severely broken leg and another victim suffered facial injuries.

Officers in Chester-le-Street are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed or has footage of the incident.
A spokesman for the force said: "Police are appealing for information in relation to a serious assault that occurred in the early hours of 1st January 2022, in Chester-le-Street at the top of the Front Street.
"The assault resulted in the victim suffering a severely broken leg and another victim suffering facial injuries.
"Officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone that has footage of the incident.
