Two people allegedly threatened with knife in hours-long police 'siege'

Police

A man who allegedly threatened two people with a knife and barricaded himself inside a unit at Mayfield has been taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.

Police described the operation, which unfolded at Carrington Street at Mayfield on Sunday, as a "siege situation".
