A Leeds fish and shop has been named the best in the UK, according to a recent study. Parkdean Resorts has compiled a list of the best fish and chips with one Leeds venue making the top five.
Using Tripadvisor to find out the percentage of reviews rated 'excellent' the shop came fourth in the rankings. LS6 Dutch Fries came second in the list with an average 98 percent of excellent reviews but they do not sell fish and chips, their fries are what people go for.
Original Fisheries, located in Bramley came fourth, with 97 percent excellent reviews. Dutch Fries is located on Brudenell Road and is popular with students in the city.
Dutch Fries sells burgers and chips. It has 212 excellent reviews on Tripadvisor with people really rating the chips.
One review said: "Unbelievable fries, within my top 10 takeaway fries ever!! Definitely go back. Can’t wait to try the whole menu!!"
Original Fisheries in Bramley is a small, traditional, family-run fish and chip shop that keeps the age-old technique of cooking their produce in beef dripping. The shop has been serving people for 101 years and has not intention of disappearing anytime soon.
With a perfect five-star rating on Tripadvisor, many people praise the small but popular restaurant for their service and food.
One review posted online said: "The Best choice for a family meal! Extra crispy and golden fish with chips, big size portions, a mouth-watering dish. Extra credits to the owners Must definitely visit!"
Another said: "I re-discovered this little gem of a place, after some years absence; now under new ownership, and better than ever. Lovely fish and chips, the taste of which beats all the other chip shops that I have tried in the area. It is run by dedicated, friendly and helpful staff. A joy to visit, and a treat for the taste buds !"
