Animal owners in Stirling have been warned to be extra vigilant after two cats were thought to have been poisoned on the same street.
The pets were found unwell on Polmaise Crescent in Fallin on April22 and 23 and the Scottish SPCA believe they may have been poisoned.
Both cats were underweight and presented similar symptoms of ulcers and swelling in their mouths.
They are now treating the incident as potentially deliberate acts and are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and report anything suspicious.
Locals are being asked to check anywhere that they may store antifreeze or similar in case the cats have accessed it accidently.
A Scottish SPCA spokesperson said: "We’d also ask cat owners in the area to be vigilant and to seek urgent veterinary treatment if their cat appears unwell."
"Anyone with any information about these incidents can contact our confidential animal helpline 03000 999 999."
