As the ongoing reports of a backstage 'feud' at This Morning, one source close to the action has claimed that two regulars on the show will not be returning while Phillip Schofield remains in his job.
Holly Willoughby has joined co-host Phil for the second day in a momentous week for the popular ITV daytime show, as speculation continues to mount that the former Broomcupboard star could be let go amid growing reported tensions between the two presenters.
The Mirror reports that ITV bosses are now prepared to sack Phil from his role if viewers continue to spot a change to the chemistry between the two TV stars, who were formerly close pals off screen.
Holly, 42, is reported to be "distancing" herself from her co-host, 61, and she's said to have cut ties with him.
GMB News host Dan Wooton has now claimed that he knows of two regulars on ITV who won't be appearing on the show again unless Phil isn't there.
Speaking in his Mailonline column, he said: "I am aware of at least two A-list This Morning regulars who have made it clear to bosses that they will not return to the show while Phillip remains in his job.
"One star explained: 'It is absolutely disgusting that ITV takes the moral high ground over lots of issues, but then continues to give their major daily presenting slot to Phillip, despite the tonne of complaints that have been made against him.
"Lots of us have now told our agents that we will not be appearing on This Morning while he is still there.'"
The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.
The comments come as This Morning fans said they 'weren't convinced' by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's 'smiley front' on the ITV show on Monday morning.
Fans had tuned in eagerly to This Morning yesterday, wondering if Holly or Phil would make any comment about their reported feud but they didn't.
Many fans said that they could 'feel tension' whilst watching and flocked to social media to talk about it - saying their apparent united front seemed 'fake'.
One said: "Phillip Schofield thinks he can fool us with this fake nice “everything is fine act” when Holly looks visibly uncomfortable being there #ThisMorning."
And body language expert Judi James thought the cracks were beginning to show between the pair.
She told the Mirror: "Phil's body language fight-back looked like a masterclass in stoic bravado as he used the ice-breaker of a guy playing the piano opener to hit the ground sprinting, cheering, clapping and bowing with arms outstretched rather than starting the show in the usual static side-by-side pose beside Holly.
"It smashed any awkwardness out of the park, although Holly's body language looked less convincing.
"When Phil did turn to join her his leg splay, hands in pockets power pose suggested confidence but Holly's chest-height hand clasp with bent wrists was a self-diminishing gesture and although she adopted a moth smile her eye expression looked sad."
