A match between Goztepe and Altay over in Turkey has been marred in chaos after a fan attacked goalkeeper Ozan Evrim Ozenc with the corner flag.
Turkish football fans are known as some of the most intense in world football but this boiled over into violence at the end of the second tier match, which was eventually abandoned by the referee. According to Turkish media, Altay fans threw objects at the section where Goztepe spectators were placed, and two ambulances entered the field upon the information that there were injured fans.
The match stopped just after the 20 minute mark before a Goztepe supporter took a corner flag, darted across to where the players were and hit Altay stopper Ozenc, who needed to be taken away by ambulance for hospital treatment. Eventually the ref took players back to the dressing room and it was not long after it was announced that the match was suspended.
