Turkey XI vs Netherlands: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injuries

Turkey have welcomed back their two suspended players to face Netherlands in the last of the Euro 2024 quarter-finals.

The Turkish played well against one of the most in-form teams in the tournament, but were lucky to win 2-1, and were rescued at the death by one of the saves of the tournament by goalkeeper Mert Gunok.

They did not emerge from the game unscathed, however, and they will have to contend with the Dutch without several key players.

Heading into the game against Austria, 10 players risked suspension after picking up yellow cards in their final group game against the Czech Republic and that tally sits at eight before today’s game.

Both Orkun Kokcu and Ismail Yuksek were booked against Austria, ruling the midfielders out of the quarter-final.

Centre-back Merih Demiral, who scored both of Turkey’s goals in the round of 16, will also miss the game through suspension. He’s been handed a two-game ban by Uefa for his controversial goal celebration against Austria.

Two players are returning from suspension to fill in for their banned teammates. Captain Hakan Calhanoglu and defender Samet Akaydin both missed the game against Austria and are in the XI to face the Netherlands.

Turkey XI: Gunok; Muldur, Akaydin, Bardakci, Kadioglu; Ozcan, Ayhan; Guler, Calhanoglu, Yildiz; Yilmaz

Suspensions: Kokcu, Yuksek, Demiral

Time and date: 8pm BST on Saturday, July 6, 2024

Venue: Olympiastadion, Berlin
