Former President Donald Trump expressed his preference to run against Vice President Kamala Harris rather than President Joe Biden. During a news conference, Trump stated, 'We were given Joe Biden, and now we’re given somebody else. And I think frankly, I’d rather be running against the somebody else.'
Trump criticized Harris' policy positions, labeling her as a 'radical left person.' This statement comes after Harris was officially named the Democratic nominee for president following Biden's announcement last month that he would not seek reelection.

Notably, this news conference marked Trump's first public appearance since Harris revealed that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz would be her running mate.
