The Trump administration has announced the deployment of additional active-duty service members to the US southern border as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance border security and address undocumented immigration. According to the US Northern Command, nearly 2,400 soldiers from Fort Carson in Colorado and approximately 500 service members from Fort Carson in Georgia will be involved in this deployment.
The primary roles of these service members will include machine operation, medical evacuation, and administrative support. It is important to note that they will not be engaged in carrying out deportations, as clarified by a statement from the US Northern Command. Stryker vehicles, which are large, armored combat vehicles, will be utilized to transport some of the troops to their designated locations.
