Trey Hendrickson tied for league lead in sacks with one week left

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t have much to play for in Week 18 since they have officially been eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but there’s one player who could etch himself into Bengals history.

Defensive end Trey Hendrickson has the chance to lead the league in sacks going into the final week since he is tied with Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end T.J. Watt with 17.

If Hendrickson finishes the season with the lead, he will be the first Bengals player to lead the league in sacks since it became an official stat in 1982.

His 17 is already a career-high for him, over his first year in Cincinnati when he had 14, but with the Browns likely sitting starters, and their offensive line already having injury issues, Hendrickson could have a good chance to add to that number.

He has a total of 41 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, three pass deflections and three forced fumbles, putting together what has been the best year of his career.
