Passengers travelling between Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street stations could face cancellation and delays today, Tuesday October 18, TransPennine Express has warned. Urgent repairs are being carried out to the track at Huyton, causing disruption to the service.
The disruption is expected “until the end of the day” and affects services in both directions. Passengers are advised to check for any updates before they travel.
TransPennine Express issued the update on Twitter, saying: “Due to urgent repairs to the track at Huyton some lines are blocked. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customers can check for service updates and cancellations on the TransPennine Express website. Tickets are being accepted on services operated by Northern between Liverpool and Manchester Piccadilly.
